The AID Bank's Industrial Estate Unit
The objective of the Industrial Estate Programme is to contribute to the
promotion of industry and to assist investors in finding suitable locations
along with the necessary services for their businesses without having to
incur heavy start-up costs associated with factory construction. The
programme makes a positive contribution to national development by creating
employment, enhancing export capabilities for foreign exchange
earnings and encouraging local entrepreneurs.
The AID Bank through its Industrial Estate Programme is responsible for the Management of the Industrial Estate on behalf of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Dominica's Industrial Estates are located at Canefield and Picard. An additional estate at Hertford is presently under development.
All services needed to operate a modern manufacturing concern are either provided by the Estate Unit or are easily accessible to tenents of the Estates.
The AID Bank Industrial Estate Unit is presently working closely with the Government and the National Development Corporation with a view to setting up an Industrial Park at Picard Industrial Estate to meet the needs of the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) sector.
