University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus will launch its Country Conference under the theme “Food for Thought: Ensuring Sustainability through Food & Nutrition Security and
Resilience in the Nature Isle”.
The conference will provide a forum for research, discussion & action on a range of topics that address food and nutrition security and its linkages to sustainable development.
There is concern that the significant reduction in agricultural output in Dominica in the last 25 years; the impact on our country’s import bill; and infestation of pests and diseases has affected every sector of the country from health to environment to social services.
AID Bank will contribute $500.00 towards the video recording of the conference, which is carded for 19th May 2016 at the Open Campus Auditorium on Elmshall Road.
The launch of the event will take place today from 9:30 am at the Open Campus Auditorium, Elmshall Road, Roseau.
